This image belongs in photography because it has a focus point. The focus point is the dandelion. I like this image because it a sunset and I think sunsets are nice. I like photographing sunsets.

Blur Motion Journal
1. Blur Motion is when the shutter speed is open for a longer amount of time than it usually is when a person takes a photo. Having the shutter speed open for a longer time allows the image to give off a blurry effect. what ever is moving it comes out blurry and what ever is still it comes out as it is seen in the camera. This is due to long exposure or fast movement.
2. All that is needed for blur motion is: have a slower shutter speed. Then have your camera perfectly still. Then the background of the image has to be moving so it gives off the blur motion.
3. My subject will either be a person or a car. The person could either be spinning or doing a flip. The car (sports car) will be racing around a track or it'll be on the freeway going really fast. I could also take a photo in my car while someone else is driving on the freeway and Ill have the camera pointing out towards the window directed at the cars passing by.
4. You adjust the shutter speed to get the blur motion image. To adjust the shutter speed I can turn the mode dial to align with the S. Then select the ISO by pressing the i button on the lower-left portion of the back of the camera. Then press up or down on the multi selector to highlight the ISO option and press ok. After that Id point the camera at the subject and activate the camera meter by pressing the shutter button about halfway. Then Id view the exposure info in the bottom area of the viewfinder. While the meter is on, move the command dial left and right to see the change of the exposure values. To speed the shutter speed up scroll to the right and left for slower.
5. 25 Images:

This image was created by slowing the shutter speed down. In the image it shows jet flying and thats the focus point. The background has the blur motion. Im assuming the camera is moving along with the jet and the movement of the camera gives the blur motion.

The image was created by the shutter speed being open for a longer time. In the image it shows a woman resting her head the the left and her arm leaning to the same side her head id. Then she moved to the right and it created the blur motion effect. You can see her head aligned with her body and he hand by her face and this has the blur motion effect.

This image was created by slowing down the shutter speed. In the image you can see the people and the background are blurry. The camera was in motion.
The image was created with the shutter speed being slowed down. In the image you can see people in motion. Their legs are blurry.

This image was created by the shutter speed slowing down. In the image it shows what looks like a rollercoaster going through a tunnel that is lit up. The rollercoaster is in motion. Also the colors are kind of blending in with each other.

The image was created by a slower shutter speed. In the image it shows a BMW steering wheel and the focus point is on the gauge. The rest of the image is blurry.

Honestly I don't know how this image was created. Its possibly photoshopped. It just looks like a wallpaper for a device.

The image was created by the shutter speed being slowed down. In the image you can see, Im assuming a subway train going through a subway. The train (which you can't see) is in motion.

The image was created by slowing the shutter speed down. The image shows a race car that is in motion causing it to be blurry.
The image was created by slowing the shutter speed down. In the image you can see a wave in the ocean in motion.

The image was created by the shutter speed being slowed down. In the image you can see that the camera is in front of the sports car. The focus point is the car. The car is in motion but its still. The background is being passed making it blurry.
The image was created by slowing the shutter speed down. In the image you can see the Porsche in motion but it is in focus because thats the focus point. The road and landscape is blurry.

The image was created by slowing the shutter speed down. In the image you can see a city that blurry.
The image was created by slowing the shutter speed down. In the image it shows a landscape in blur motion.

The image was created by slowing the shutter speed down. In the image you can se a stream in moving. The water is the one thing in motion causing it to be blurry.
The image was created by the shutter speed being slowed down. In the image you can see an amusement park right in motion causing it to be blurry.

The image was created by slowing down the shutter speed. In the image you can see, again, another amusement park ride in motion and its blurry.
Im not sure how the image was created. Perhaps photoshop.

The image was created by the shutter speed being slowed down. In the image you can see traffic in motion and that made it blurry.
The image was created by the shutter speed being slowed down. In the image you can see the focus point which is the guy on the bike. The traffic beside him is blurry.

The image was created by slowing the shutter speed down. In the image you can see that the interior of the Audi is the focus point. The car is in motion and its making the surroundings on the outside blurry.
The image was created by slowing the shutter speed down. In the image you can see the carousel spinning causing it to blur.

The image was created by the shutter speed being slowed down. In the image it seems as if the camera is on top of the car roof. The car is clear and visible and the surroundings are blurry.
The image was created by slowing the shutter speed down. In the image it shows dice in motion. The focus point is the two dice.

The image was created by slowing the shutter speed down. In the image it shows stars that are blurry. Perhaps the photographer moved the camera to make the stars blurry like that. The landscape is not in motion or blurry.
Journal 8/28/17
1. So far I think my classes are going pretty good. Except for my algebra 2 honors class and physics class. Im not learning anything. The algebra class Im pretty much teaching myself and I tried to change it but they wouldn't let me so I have to deal with it. My physics class I don't have a teacher for. So Im pretty lost in that class. Besides that all the rest of my classes are fine.
2. My favorite class would have to be photography. Its not too difficult. And its not too easy. I think photography's pretty fun. Ive always been into photography since I was little. I took the class again because I wanted to learn more about photography. Id like to become better at photography and photoshopping.
3. I think building my website was easy. It doesn't take that much to build a website. Since Ive created a wix website before I remembered how to create one again.
4. I think our first photo project is pretty cool. Portraits weren't always my favorite but it was easy. Ive always found portraits hard to draw and paint. But shooting them are simple.
5. I don't think I've taken any cool pictures yet. I think once we start taking other types of pictures and using different types of photography then perhaps I'll get a great photo thats interesting.
6. The syles of photography I'm into is night photography, nature photography, and car photography. Maybe some architecture photography. I think those types of photography are awesome. Id like to try UV photography. Honestly I'd like to try every type of photography. I mostly like to shoot nature photography because I usually get good photos.
7. What do you plan to do over Labor Day weekend? Explain. My plan for labor day weekend was to sleep, watch movies and celebrate my moms birthday. I painted my mom a picture and she seemed to really like it. I wish I could of bought her something but I couldn't. Me and my mom just watched movies over the break. And I also cleaned my house.
Forced Perspective

1. In the image there is an optical illusion. The illusion makes the object appear closer, larger, smaller or farther away than it really is. Also the image has depth of field within it. Depth of field is the zone of sharpness within a photo that will appear in focus. There is also a focus point. In the image the object you want has to appear as an optical illusion.
2. To use forced perspective you must either have the object be farther away from the camera to get the illusion of it being smaller or have the object be closer to the camera to create the illusion of it being larger. Distance depends on the size difference you want. Then you want to use depth of field to give the image a focus point.
3. I think they create this force perspective by putting the object farther or closer to the camera. This will create an illusion. The object with either look larger or smaller than it really is. With forced perspective I think it would take a lot of patience to create this type of image. And to get a great looking image you would have to use precision.
4. At first I didn't know what forced perspective was so I wouldn't of known what to do. But after reading the articles and definition of forced perspective I would create the image by making the object appear larger or smaller. I would probably use an actual car or a toy car. Maybe the actual car could appear smaller and the toy car could look like an actual running car.
5. Line of sight effected the image by it giving the image a distance point. Line of sight is a line from an observer's eye to a distant point. Depth of field effects the image by there being a focus point. The object thats being focused on is in focus and the rest of the image is blurry. Distance effects the image by putting something real far away and it makes it small and if its real close it makes it real large.
Video Tutorial Summary:
"Want Better Photos? Invest in Experiences, NOT Equipment
In the video he (Joshua) claims that great photos result in you being at the right place at the right time. It doesn't matter what kind of camera you have it all depends on the experience and the placement or the time. The lighting can cause you to get a good photos. The cameras do not matter. He showed pictures that he took of landscapes and they came out looking like professional photos.
Still Life Journal
1. I was thinking my still life could have skulls or books. Maybe I could create a book theme. I was thinking the book thief and creating that. Or this book called Dorothy Must Die. I could also do an IT theme. I haven't really decided what theme I want to do. Perhaps Ill do all the themes I have in mind. Im pretty sure ill figure it out once we start shooting.
2. If I create the book theme then Id want to use books maybe three books and put glasses on them. If I choose The Book Thief then id probably want a journal and a pen. If I want to create Dorothy must die I could use the props they described in the book. If i want to create IT then Id want to get a red balloon and maybe some parts of his costume.
3. I usually like using lighting because it looks professional I guess you could say. I think the lighting is going to work good for me. But maybe it won't. I guess it depends what i do. I'd either put the lighting on one side of the props or above them. It would create a shadow and would probably look good. We'll see how it turns out.
4. I think my images will be both contemporary and traditional. Contemporary being from our own time and traditional being the opposite of contemporary. Ill probably have vintage props and some that aren't vintage.
5. Yes the majority of my still life ideas are based off books. I was thinking maybe IT. Or The Book Thief. Or Dorothy Must Die. They wouldn't require a lot of props. They're very simple. I could even a Christmas or Thanksgiving theme.
6. 20 Images and why I chose them:

I picked this image because it has a Shakespeare theme. I am thinking about using themes.
I chose this photo because it has some what an aesthetics. It gives off a calm feeling and its pretty to look at.

I chose this photo because it has skulls and I might be using a skull or multiple skulls.
I chose this image because it involves flowers and skulls. There is a possibility that I will use flowers.

I picked this photo because it has a hand watch and an hour glass shadow. I love hour glasses and I might use my hour glasses that I have at home.
I chose this image because it has books and it gives off kind of a vintage theme. The books are old and the glasses are old too. I just like how it looks.

I chose this photo because its simple and it would be easy to recreate but I doubt I'll recreate this image.
I chose this image because it seemed interesting and it looks really nice.

I chose this image because there was strawberries hanging. I thought it was really creative.
I chose this image because it has gold fish and the image looks very awesome. It interesting and its something I never would of thought of.

I chose this photo because I want to recreate this image. Its cool.
I chose this image because I thought it was cute. It shows love.

I chose this image because it beautiful. I love flowers.
I chose this image because it has pomegranates and they're my favorite.

I chose this image because its simple and it wold be a good idea for the project.
I chose this image because its simple but its really creative.

I chose this photo because it gives off a sweet feeling. Its organized nicely and the strawberries are in focus and centered.
I chose this image because I thought it was amazing. I wondered if the creator painted them or they're naturally like that. I thought it was smart to do something like this.

I chose this image because it was odd. Its just strange. Im not completely sure why I find it odd but I do. Maybe because of the duck covered in black and the paint is everywhere.
I chose this photo because it looked very old. Its focused on the candle. It just looks vintage. And I thought it was neat.

Advanced Lighting Journal
1. I think photographers shoot with light by using longer exposure. They probably use the same technique as the way we did with blur motion. They slow down the shutter speed.
2. This technique is called light trails. Its called that because every image that is captured leaves trails of light.
3. You can draw and take the picture at the same time by setting the ISO to the lowest speed possible. Then set the shutter speed to 5-30 seconds. Once the shutter clicks then you can draw with your light.
4. Color does affect how the viewer views an image. The reason is that each color can give off a certain feeling. The color can change how the image looks just by the image.
5. Yes colors resemble emotions because each color means something. For example, red means anger maybe even love. It depends on the way a person views the color.
6. You add color by using different colored lights. Or maybe you can replace the color using photoshop.
7. You would use the exposure triangle with these techniques by using the shutter speed (setting the shutter speed to 5-30 seconds), and using the ISO (setting it to the lowest speed possible).
8. Strand lights affect an image by creating a dual lighting. It makes the image look darker.
9. You reflect color by using a CD. You can point the CD to a light source and the CD will reflect colors (rainbow). You can also reflect light by using a metallic surface. Pretty much any surface that reflects light is what you can use.
10. Find 20 examples (a few for each lighting technique) place on journal page and answer the following:
1. Why did you pick it? Explain.
2. How do you think the photographer took it? Explain.

I chose this photo because it had an illusion type of effect but I'm probably wrong because this style of photography just uses lights so the photographer probably just angled at certain positions.
I chose this photo because the lighting is amazing. And the profile is beautiful. The photographer probably created this photo by using a red light and possibly a faint green light. Then probably angled her face and put her hair that way.

I chose this image because he reminded me of a greaser. I liked how it looked. I think the photographer angled the guy and put some smoke in there and added the blue and red lights.
I chose this photo because it was kind of the same as the one above. It has a great profile. The photographer probably used different lighting. Such as orange, blue and pink.

I chose this picture because it was pretty. The image shows the before and after of the girl. I think the photographer made her pose that way and added the red and blue lights. The red light went on the right and the blue on the left.
I chose this image because it shows the CD reflection. The photographer probably took the CD and putt towards the sun and had the model stand in from of it and it reflected off.

I chose this image because it used the same kind of technique as the one above. The photographer probably just used the sun and directed it at the subject.
I chose this image because it was interesting. It's a collage. One image is a hand, ones a book with a flower and the other is one using a CD to get that lighting. The photographer probably just used a CD and reflected it onto these objects.

I chose this image because it was simple. The photographer is probably not using a CD this time because its such a small lighting and it was probably just something that was giving off that effect from the sun but I may be wrong.
I chose this image because the background with the lighting was interesting. It swirls like an illusion. The photographer probably peeled away parts of the CD to create that effect. And then used the sun to reflect the CD.

I chose this image because it doesn't look real. It looks crazy. Kind of pretty actually. The photographer probably just slowed down the shutter speed and took different colored lights and drew that.
I chose this image because its amazing to look at. Im still wondering how the photographer created this image. It looks like fire works going off.

I chose this image because it was interesting. The photographer probably went to an abandoned building and took a light that changes color and made the effect.
I chose this image because of the lights. The blue was really pretty. I think the photographer slowed down the shutter speed and drew the flower with a yellow light in the middle and then took a blue light and drew the dome around the flower and person.

I chose this image because I like the colors and was surprised to see a perfect circle. The photographer probably slowed down the shutter speed and took different colored lights and drew circles.
I chose this image because it was kind of calming. The photographer probably took string lights and put them around a fake flower and put it in front of the books.

I chose this image because it focused on one lightbulb. The photographer just took a picture of string lights.
I chose this image because it was simple. The photographer just put some sting lights in a jar and shot the photo.

I chose this image because Ive always wanted to do this to my room. The photographer probably just took string lights and hung them on their all and attached photos to them with clips. Then shot the image from a distance.
I chose this image because it was real simple and easy. The photographer just took a small amount of string lights and had someone hold them in their hand and took the picture.

Independent Project Proposal
1. I chose sunset/Sunrise photography for my project. Sunrises and sunset photography is exactly what it sounds like. The sun will be rising and Ill be there taking pictures and the sun will be setting and Ill be there to capture the photo. I think Ive given myself a challenge with the sunrises because I'm not a morning person at all. But the sunsets are no problem.
2. For the sunrise part I was planning on waking up early, meaning before the sun has risen and go find a great location. Possibly by the mountains or a cliff. Something thats high and has a good view. Maybe before I go to school I can shoot a couple of pictures. At school I can shoot pictures. Like at the grass field or go up to third floor of freshmen building and get some pictures. For the sunsets I can go to a great location thats somewhere high up and get a few pictures of the sun before it sets then another picture when it starts setting then when it has fully set. Kind of like "beginning, middle and end" type of thing.
3. Something specific I will need is a good night sleep. I will be waking up early for the sunrises. I will also need patients. The time of the day will need to be in the evening and the morning, possibly at night. whenever the sun rises and sets.
4. I was planning on shooting this project somewhere high up where there is nothing blocking the sky. I could pretty much shoot this anywhere. As long as the image is clear and I can see the skies. Maybe at school, or from my room. Maybe I can go on my roof.
5. I wanted to try doing this type of photography for this project because I love sunrises and sunsets. I usually take a picture of the sunrises and sunsets every chance I get. This project seems fun and I think it would be nice to capture something thats breath taking. Ive actually been wanting to do a project thats based on sunrises and sunsets. Plus its would be something that I love.
Independent Project #2 Proposal
1. The type of photography I chose to do for my project is Nature photography. I like nature and I like to be outside. Nature photography is photography thats shot outdoors. These images are made up of wildlife, landscapes, plants and close ups/textures.
2. I am going to shoot the images outside. Probably out in a field. Possibly get on a hill and go from there. Any where high or where there is no cars or buildings.
3. There is no specific thing I really need. I think nature is all around. Any where there is wildlife or landscapes. Just nature.
4. I will be outside shooting these images. Nature photography is mainly outside.
5. I chose this photography to try for this project because I think it will be nice to go outside and just take picture. I like to be outside even though its cold at times. I usually do nature photography whenever I'm taking pictures so it'll probably be easy. I like nature and I like landscapes, wildlife, etc.
Independent project #3 proposal
1)For this project i will be doing a flower aesthetic. I looked up aesthetics for photography and a flower popped up and I thought I could put flowers in water and have sink full of water with coloring like a bath bomb or a type of milk bath.
2) I am going to shoot these photos inside. They'll be shot in my bathroom with a warm light.
3) All i need is a warm light my camera and flowers along with coloring for the water.
4) I will be in my bathroom using my sink.
5) I chose this project because I thought I could try something new and put something together myself instead of having something already set up for me like a sunrise for example.
Independent project #4 proposal
1) For this project I will be going to a cemetery. I thought I could go find nice headstones. It'll be kind of creepy in a way.
2) I am going to shoot these images outside at a cemetery. Im planning on going to the Fairview cemetery.
3) I don't need anything specific for this project because everything will be set up because its a cemetery.
4) I will be at a cemetery around headstone and grass and walk ways along with trees.
5) I chose this project because I wanted to get out of the house and I thought it would be neat to go shoot at a cemetery. Also I want to see what kind of photos I could get.

Independent Project Proposal #5
1) For this project I will be doing Dark Photography. They will be portraits of myself and possibly other people. I will be having dim lights involved in my project. Along with darkness surrounding me. Im trying to give off a creepy feeling but also giving a vibrant color to the image.
2) I was thinking I could have lights that are close to be. For example I could use my string lights, a candle stick thats lit or this 3D, moon. Or I could go out into the woods or an ally and those photos can be turned into a black and white image. When I do portraits I'll do some type of makeup to make me look "dead" in a way. I can also have a book on fire (i don't know if I'll actually do that).
3) Something specific I will need is darkness in my room. So I will have to wait until night time so my room is completely dark. I will also need some warm lights and a bright light along with dim lighting. I will need some patients because I will be lining the camera up on myself and it will take many shots to get a good photo.
4) I was planning on shooting this project in my room in the dark with lights (dim light, bright light, or warm light). The space will be small but Im sure I can manage.
5) I chose this project because Ive never done self portraits. So I thought I could give myself a little challenge. They will be dark and kind of creepy. I have never done dark images so I will need a little helming with the editing. I hope they come out nice. Hopefully they will come out creepy and maybe have an aesthetic feeling.
Independent Project Proposal #6
1. The type of photography I chose to work with is Low-Key lighting. It uses a small light source and the light source which is a fill light and you can use a reflector to create shadows. There is contrast to the object/subject. So low-key lighting is a lighting effect that uses a hard light source to enhance the shadows in the scene. The low-key lighting gives a dramatic feeling when the image is taken.
2. These images will be shot around my house. I will have my little photography box set up in my room and I have a setting in my camera that is called low-key lighting which helps. These photos will be shot in the dark with one light.
3. I do need my room to be completely dark so it needs to be night time. I will need my photography box to shoot images. Besides that I think I have everything that I need in my sight ( I do need to get a new tripod because mine doesn't hold a heavy camera too well, but I will buy one soon).
4. I will be shooting these images around my house. Im more comfortable with shooting in my house and I'm not sure why that is because I love to be outside. Maybe it because I don't feel comfortable being outside in the dark alone.
5. I want to try doing this type of photography for this project because Ive never done something like this. I try and do new things every time I get the chance. Im willing to try new thing. Plus I think it would be interesting to try low-key lighting.
