Gritty Portrait

1. The altered portrait that was the hardest to create was the gritty portraits. This was the most difficult because it took the longest. It was difficult for me because I had to do it two times to get it kind of right. I'm sure I didn't get this one right either. But I tried.

2.The altered portrait that was easiest to create was the hand colored black and white portrait. This was easy because all I had to do was change the image to black and white, then go to the color replacement tool and select a colorant replace the color.

3. "Altered Portrait" to a viewer means that its just changing the filters or adding an image to the original image. "Altered Portraits" to a photographer means going farther beyond editing an image by changing the filter or adding an image. They'd want the photo a specific way. Maybe they want to turn the image into an illusion or maybe replace the person or object in the photo with something else. I believe photographers want their images perfect.

4. Out of the eight altered portraits the one I'd most likely to create the image overlay portraits again. I think the image overlay is cool. It gives the mage an illusion and I like illusions. Also with the image overlay theres so many things to create with it. I mean you can create many things with the other altered portraits but I liked the image overlay.

5. The historical significance behind one of the altered portrait techniques I learned is that the image overlay was used in Robert Heineken and he used a visual commentary in the Vietnam War during the 1960’s and 1970’s.

6. I believe its important for me to learn blur motion because what if I want to edit an image in a cool way and then sell the photo. I usually take photos and try to sell them online. Also its important to learn how to alter portraits because it gives me something knew to learn. More knowledge.

7. I believe all portraits should be altered because it will cover up all the flaws and the image would look more sophisticated. But I also believe all portraits shouldn't be altered because it shows the real person instead of showing the fake characteristics of the person. I think it could work out any way, it all just depends on how the photographer photographs the subject.

8. By altering a portrait it allows us to make the portrait look different. Altering a portrait covers up flaws or gives the portrait an effect. The image is going to change if we alter a portrait. We can turn the image to a different color, give it an illusion, or adding pictures to the portrait and making it into a collage.

Blur Motion Project

1) Blur Motion is when the shutter speed is open for a longer amount of time than it usually is when a person takes a photo. Having the shutter speed open for a longer time allows the image to give off a blurry effect. what ever is moving it comes out blurry and what ever is still it comes out as it is seen in the camera. This is due to long exposure or fast movement.

2. I created my blur motion images with the camera by having the shutter speed open for a longer time. Then I had the subject move at a certain speed. Or I moved the camera a little to create a blurry effect. I just had something moving and while that something was moving I took the image.

3. In photoshop all I did was adjust the brightness, the contrast, the shadows and highlights. Some images I turned black and white. Some images only got the brightness and contrast fixed. I tried my best to make the image look better.

4. The thing that was difficult was to set the shutter speed at the appropriate setting to get a good blurred image. Some of my photos I took on my phone and those came out pretty great. I liked them. The only problem I had with taking the photos on my phone was trying to get the phone to stay still. My hand kept shaking but other than that the images, in my opinion, came out good.

5. The thing that was easy about shooting or editing the images was just having the subject move. With editing the images, the easiest thing was to just make the image pop. To add more color or brightness or darkness. With shooting I just had the subject move a certain way or I could move the camera and I got a blur motion image.

Forced Perspective

1. My images are of making the subject bigger than what they are or smaller than what they are or bending gravity. I got pictures of small cars (mustang and GT-R. There is about 8 images of those). I also got pictures of someone "holding" someone in their hand (one or two photos of those), someone flicking someone else (one or two photos of those), someone holding some stairs (one of those). Also someone walking up stairs that were drawn with chalk and someone holding onto a balloon and the balloon was drawn with chalk (one of each of these).

2. The images of the cars being larger than what they really are use force perspective by them being really small in reality but I made them larger than what they are. The images of some of holding someone in their hand uses force perspective because  the main subject is smaller than what they are. The images of someone holding the stairs uses forced perspective because it looks like  the subject is holding the stairs when in reality the subject is not. The images with chalk makes them look like they're really either walking up stairs or holding onto a balloon.

3. The images of the cars were created by me putting the camera close to the subject and having the camera at the same level of the subject. The images of the person holding the other person was created by having one person being far away and one person being closer to the camera. The images of the ones with chalk were created by drawing on the concrete outside and having the subject lay on the floor and seem as if they were holding the chalk balloon or walking up the chalk stairs. With the images the subject(s) were either closer to the camera or farther away from the camera.

4. The thing that was hard about forced perspective was getting all the subjects to come into focus. If the subject wasn't close enough to the camera the they didn't focus. If the subject wasn't far away enough then the image wasn't in focus. If the subjects weren't aligned then the image was out of focus.

5. Line of sight affected the images because each image had a focus point. Line of sight is a line from the observer's eye to a distant point. Depth of field affected the images because each subject was either farther or nearer. Depth of Field is the distance between the farthest and nearest object sin a scene. Distance affected the image because  the subject either had to be close to the camera or far from the camera. If the subject is far away then they will be smaller than what they really are. If the subject is close to the camera then they will be larger than what they really are.

Independent Project #5: Dark Photography

1) My photos are supposed to be dark. When I say dark I mean kind of creepy. They do have dark colors in them and use a little bit of lighting. Have portraits of myself holding a miniature moon, then theres some of outside like flowers, street posts, theres some of the inside of my house and others. These photos use just a little bit of lighting.

2) I used a setting thats lets me see at night. There was only a little light used in my photos. I had to use a little bit of lighting because my project was focused on dark photos.

3) I made these photos by using a small amount of lighting. I put up a black background in my room, turned off my lights and had my light source around me. I had my tv on and i turned it to a channel that was offline and I put my hand to my tv and took the picture.

4) The only thing I found difficult about this project was the portraits of myself. I couldn't get the camera lined up with me and I couldn't get the camera close enough. I pretty much couldn't find the "sweet spot".
